Women's History

I will be presenting a lesson plan concerning the discrimination African American Women faced in employment/education etc. I am wondering if you would be able to tell me of viable and good examples that I could use for my presentation. I would like specific examples of discrimination.

Thank you for your note to FEMINIST.COM and I suggest that you contact the National Women's History Project . This is the 150th anniversary of the Women's Convention at Seneca Falls. In connection with that, they have been publishing many time-lines, etc.. on women's history. They will certainly have some information for you specific to African- American Women. There is a great collection: Black Women in America edited by Darlene Clark Hine. You should reference this book for information. There is also the Coalition of 100 Black Women, which is a national organization based in New York City, with chapters around the country. I hope these suggestions help - good luck.
