Women's History

I am graduating from an all-women's college this May. I am preparing to be a speaker and would like to incorporate information about the most outstanding women of the past and the present. My goal is to trace the entire millenium and point out the brightest and strongest women who have beaten the odds and made a remarkable impact in our lives. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for your note to FEMINIST.COM. Your future plans sound great. If you look under this section on Women's History here at Ask Amy you will see many remarkable women over time. Because there are so many great women--I can't begin to list them. In the past I have a referenced a few great women in response to more specifics questions. I have also referenced books that include great women. There is also a new book out called Women Imagine Change: An Anthology of Women's Resistance from 600 BCE to the Present." This anthology contains many remarkable women throughout history. (For this book, visit the FEMINIST.COM Bookstore). Additionally, there is a new book out called Cool Women by Pam Nelson. These seemingly rebellious women would be great. Good luck with your work.
