Hello! I need your help. I am doing a research project on Jewish women and their role in the synagogue. I would like some guidance to where I can find such information as her ability to pray vs. men and if she can become a cantor, rabbi, etc. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Per your note to FEMINIST.COM, try:

1. Mayan (a Jewish women's organization located in New York City).

2. Auburn/Union Theological Center in New York City.

3. The work of Laura Geller, who was ordained as a rabbi at Hebrew Union College in 1975. She was one of the first three women to do so. (I believe she is a rabbi at the Temple Emmanuel in Beverly Hills, CA).
