Hello, my name is Pawan. I am a senior in High School in Bakersfield, California. I was on the Internet looking for famous poems or speeches by women that I could use for a Thematic Interpretation. I compete in debate and speech and have decided to do a speech on Women. I have chosen to recite "Phenonmenal Woman", by Maya Angelou and am looking for two more pieces. Can you please help? I could really use it.

Sincerely, Pawan

Per your note to FEMINIST.COM here are my choices:

1.) New Face--a poem by Alice Walker (found in her book Her Blue Body Everything We Know)

2.) Ain't I A Woman--a speech by Sojourner Truth.

We also feature Phenonmenal Woman by Maya Angelou for those not familiar with it.
