Thanks for your note. I am familiar with a few resources that would be able to help you with your research on how images of the sexual objectification of women impact women, but I'm not sure what on-line presence some of these resources have:

• Jean Kilbourne's book Deadly Persuasion: Why Women and Girls Must Fight the Addictive Power of Advertising , which is about advertisers' influence. There was also a documentary done on this research by Cambridge Documentaries (in Cambridge, MA).

• Naomi Wolf's book The Beauty Myth: How Images of Beauty Are Used Against Women handles much of this.

• Gloria Steinem's article "Sex, Lies & Advertising" in her book Moving Beyond Words.

• About Face is a grassroots effort dedicated to combating negative and distorted images of women.
