I am currently researching the women's movement and feminism in Japan. Any Internet links you could forward to me regarding the topics in mention would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your assistance in this matter. Sincerely, Andy

I think that the best place to start would be for you to communicate with my friend Kyoko Michisota--a feminist scholar living in Japan. I will forward her your email address in the hopes that she will respond to your directly. I also can recommend a few books: 36 Views of Mt. Fuji, by Cathy Davidson and The Japanese Woman: Traditional Image and Changing Reality by Sumiko Iwao. Also, Robin Morgan's anthology Sisterhood Is Global has an entry on Japan, which contains statistical information as well as essays. I hope those recommendations help.
