Dear Amy,

I am writing this e mail on behalf of Antalya Local Agenda 21 Women Council in Turkey. A local NGO gathering various women NGO's like an umbrella within its body, established in 1997 under LA 21 project.

As you may know, we are going to have local elections in march and we would like more women to be involved in this process. We aim to see more women in politics. We would like to learn more about EU funds and overseas funds open for Turkey too.

I would be glad if you could help us. Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Z. Tugce CIFTCIBASI
LA 21 Antalya Women Council

The work you are doing sounds necessary and important. I suggest that you look into Mama Cash -- based in The Netherlands and also The Global Fund for Women. There is also a group based at Harvard University called The Council on Women World Leaders -- they aren't a funding organization, but might have suggestions. Also, try the Sisterhood is Global Institute as well as larger funding institutions such as The Ford Foundation.

I hope that helps.
