Dear Amy,

I have been bleeding continuously for the last five months day in day out and I am sick of it. None of the doctors I saw can tell me what is wrong as all the tests come out negative. I am a newly wed and never been able to consummate my marriage. This bleeding has taken over my life. If it was not for husband's support, I couldn't have made it through with this bleeding am wondering if you could help me get some help.

Sincerely,
Unhappy

Dear Unhappy,

You certainly need to consult other doctors. People do not bleed for that long for no reason. You might have human papaloma virus, which causes spotting, not quite bleeding--and HPV is hard to detect so perhaps you should ask your doctor specifically about this. But, please go to the doctor, you aren't going to get better until you find out what is happening and how to curb it.
