I am a student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I was wondering if you had any current statistics regarding child pornography on the Internet, or pedophiles who have been convicted for downloading smut to children, or other similar crimes? I am doing research, for a class, on "child pornography and the Internet". I will also be asking parents to fill out a questionnaire about what they are willing to do to protect their children against crimes such as these.

Per your note to FEMINIST.COM about research on child pornography, I am mailing you a copy of Diana Russell's book-- Against Pornography, which includes references to many groups working on this topic. I also suggest that you reference her book Making Violence Sexy. Another suggestion is The Price We Pay: The Case Against Racist Speech, Hate Propaganda and Pornography by Laura Lederer and Richard Delgado.

Between these books and the resources included, I hope you find the information you are looking for. Good luck--and hopefully your work can help put an end to this degradation.
