ONE DOWN, ONE TO GO

July 14, 2000

Thanks to activists who called, e-mailed and faxed Congress in opposition to bans on testing and developing abortion drugs (RU486) included in the Agriculture Appropriations bill (WFF 6/30/00), the bans were defeated. The FDA is still considering unprecented restriction on doctors who can prescribe the drug (WFF 6/9/00). The Feminist Majority Foundation is coordinating a campaign to appeal to President Clinton and FDA Commissioner Henney to stop the planned restrictions on doctors. Individuals or groups can sign on at the Feminist Majority Take Action section, or call 703-522-2214 for a copy of the appeal. (WFF 7/14/00)
