Hazelnut Kids was created in 2005 in order to give parents an
easy-to-navigate website where they can find natural toys for their
children, and where they would know that all of the toys offered were
created by companies that follow the strictest safety standards. As a
parent myself, I know that there are many areas regarding children that
require some research. At Hazelnut Kids we hope to make parents lives a
little easier by doing the toy research for them, and presenting our
findings through Hazelnut Kids.
After our first son was born my husband and I gave up the city life to live
closer to nature, in an area filled with trees, lakes, rivers, and animals -
Traverse City, Michigan. Living here has strengthened our commitment to
caring for the environment, and that commitment was what led me to choose
products for Hazelnut Kids that are safe for children as well as for the
planet.
Our toys are made of natural materials, such as wood, bamboo, organic
cotton, wool, and beeswax, and do not contain plastic or batteries. Since
anything a baby holds will be placed in her mouth, all of our baby toys are
made of either wood with a non-toxic finish or dye, or organic cotton, as we
do not want any chemicals near a baby's mouth. Our toys come from all over
the world, with the majority being made in the United States, Germany, and
Thailand. We carry baby toys, Waldorf dolls, beeswax art materials, wooden
play kitchens, organic cotton dolls and stuffed animals, ball track sets,
wooden dollhouses, wooden train sets, cooperative play games, playsilks, and
much more. We also offer wish list and gift wrapping services.
Since the health of children and the earth is our primary focus, we donate
1% of our sales to land conservancies, so future generations have places in
nature to explore, learn about, and enjoy. And for every item purchased
from Hazelnut Kids we have one tree planted through Trees for the Future.
I hope that you will enjoy shopping at Hazelnut Kids, and if you ever have
any questions about our products or website, please do not hesitate to
contact us.
Sincerely,
Sheri Novak, Owner of Hazelnut Kids
