started Eco-Bags Products in December
of 1989, the same year my first child,
Julian was born. One day after a "neighborhood
shopping adventure," reviewing my purchases,
I realized that they were all stapled
& stuffed in silly, useless, thin plastic
& paper shopping bags. "Enough" I said,
I know there's another way. This is
stupid!" I set off to change the way
Americans shop by adopting the way Europeans
used to shop; reusing convenient cloth
bags. The idea caught on and Eco-Bags
has grown since. My son is now 8 years
old (and I've got a daughter, Eva, who's
5) and we've sold more than a million
bags. Eco-Bags products are sold in
stores nationally. We work with organizations
and companies of all sizes to design
and meet their promotional and retail
needs. We also have a design department
where we work with manufacturers to
create reusable cloth packaging solutions
for their products. Our company philosophy
is to create change "one bag at a time."
