Is there any hope for rehabilitation if a pedophile admits he needs help and wants to change after the third offense of touching children?

Why do they molest children? Is it out of anger; is it to control the child like they couldn't control the adult attacking them?

Men who are abused tend to go on to be abusers; while women who are abused tend to continue to find themselves in abusive relationships. That's the cycle of abuse. Certainly people break this and it mostly happens through the will to change. Castration -- either surgical or chemical -- hasn't proven to help -- the abuse doesn't stop because it isn't sexual it's about power.

So again it's brought back to the desire to make change on the part of the abuser. I hope that helps.
