Reproductive Rights

I was wondering if you had an opinion on Male Reproductive Rights? If so, could you e-mail me with your response. I am writing a research paper on Abortion. Thanks, Jerry

Since men can't reproduce, I'm a little confused by your question. However, since men do play a part in reproduction, I can answer your question to that extent. I think that men should be as informed as women should be about all aspects of family planning--how to prevent unwanted pregnancies and how to go about having healthy families. In terms of men having a say in abortion...I do think that more men need to be vocally pro-choice. In terms of individual choice within couples, that is a case-by-case basis. It is the woman's choice since she is the one who would--if she chose this- carry the pregnancy to term, so I think that it is she who likewise has the primary say in whether or not to carry it to full-term. In any well-balanced couple, I'm sure that men play a role in this decision-making process. However, some couples are at an unequal place. For this reason, I would maintain that it is solely the women's choice. Hopefully, her male partner will support her in that decision. I hope that helps, but please let me know if you had a more specific question in mind.
