Amy,

I am a feminist and believe that domestic violence is a horrible situation and I would do anything to stop one incident of this.

However, Scott Peterson, who killed his wife and unborn son, was recently sent to death for this. I see this as a bad thing for all humans, including the women's movement. In order for women who are victims of domestic violence to regain their control over their situation, the violence first needs to end. How can we fight violence with more violence?

If we condone violence, then only more violence will follow. How do you feel about the death penalty? We need to end the cycle of violence and stop allowing our children to see the government sanctioned murder that is occurring.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

I totally agree.

What Scott Peterson did was one of the worst things I had ever heard of, but I am adamantly opposed to the death penalty and can't justify it under any circumstance. I would contact the Family Violence Prevention Fund, they are likely to put out some good information on it.
