I'm doing an 8 page report on the stereotype of women being weak and beautiful rather than strong and independent but need information. Could someone please help? Thanks, Kerri-Lynn

To help with your report, you might want to reference Gloria Steinem's article--"The Strongest Women in the World"--and also the preface to this article--"The Politics of Muscle." You can find this article in her book, Moving Beyond Words. In this article and essay, she talks about why it is that people falsely put these categorizations on women and also about how these stereotypes came to be as well as how they aren't accurate.
