Hi, i am writing from Vancouver Canada and was wondering if you could help me with a paper I am writing. The subject is Women in Sports and how they are objectified. I was wondering if you could help me to find some good web sites, books or other resources for this. Time is short, (two and a half weeks) so anything at all would definately be of help. Thank you very much, Danna

Thanks for your note to FEMINIST.COM. To help find information about Women in Sports and specifically how women have been objectified, I suggest some of the following resources:

1.) The Women's Sports Foundation--they are a national organization and should have lots of information for you.

2.) Whatever It Takes: Women On Women's Sport edited by Joli Sandoz and Joby Winans--some of these essays certainly deal with objectification. The book was recently published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux.

3.) Sports Illustrated for Women probably has had articles on this.

4.) Ms. Magazine has certainly covered this topic. For instance, the case of Amy Cohen who sued Brown University for not complying with Title IX.

I hope that helps. Good luck.
