I am a performance artist working on a piece about women's experience. I am looking for quotes from public figures past and present that reveal entrenched cultural attitudes towards women. I especially need quotes from contemporary religious, political, and other prominent figures. Any ideas for sources of such? Thanks, Anne

I think the best place to find quotes about "entrenched cultural attitudes towards women" would be the many quote books that are available--such as "An Uncommon Scold" by Abby Adams; "Feminist Quotations"; " The Quotable Woman" and "The Beacon Book of Quotations by Women." This is a start. Any bookstore, library should have a selection to choose from.
