Hi,

I am wondering if you know of a source for the obituaries of notable women who have died recently. It would seem that the mainstream media has extensive listings about notable people who have died, but the notable people turn out to be 95 percent male. I am sure there are more notable women than that in the world.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,

Susan

Susan,

Good question, and I don't have an easy answer. Maybe the Women's History Museum in Dallas, TX or also the National Women's History Project, based in upstate New York? There are several archiving projects being undertaken right now, but I can't think of one this broad. For instance, there is the Sophia Smith collection at Smith College, but that probably focuses mostly just on women connected with that school, though they might have leads.

Good luck,

- Amy
