Hi Amy!

I am Huong and I am doing A level Media. I have gone through your website a lot and I have read all your answers which I found very helpful! I have only one question that's related to the coursework that I am doing now. Hope that you can help me.

How has women’s legislation effected the way that women are represented in the media now a days?

Thanks and I am looking forward to your answer!

Best wishes!

I'm assuming you mean women's legislation or perhaps you mean women legislators. In any event, politics hasn't had much impact on the media, because encouraging it to happen, it has made little progress, even in attempts at monitoring equal and fair representation.

However, Freedom of the Press certainly helps women because there are numerous publications specifically devoted to this issue, but when it comes to infiltrating the mainstream, progress has been slow.

Hope that helps,

- Amy
