Good day, I am Desmond Rodney, a postgraduate student at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica West Indies. I am interested in examining issues involving women and Gender in international relations, development and or human rights, with specific reference to the developing world. I am therefore seeking to attend a conference, workshop, seminar or course in any such area. I would greatly appreciate if you could inform me of any such event known to you. Thank you.

Thanks for your note to Feminist.com. I am not that involved with international issues--my work is based more in the U.S., but I suggest that you contact the following organizations and ask them about conferences on the issue of international development and human rights.

  1. Equality Now
  2. Global Fund for Women
  3. Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO)
  4. Center for Women's Global Leadership
There is also the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation--all of which fund a lot of international programs, so they may be a source of information, too. (All of these foundations are based in New York City).
