Hi, my name is Megan, and I am a senior in high school in St. Louis, MO. I am doing a project on how women are treated in different countries. Specifically, I am targeting the countries of Zaire, Israel, Russia, South Africa, China, Honduras, Australia, and Iraq. If it is possible, could you please send me as much information as you can about these countries and their treatment of women (and what their rights are)? Thank you, Megan

The best source of information about women in other countries is a book called Sisterhood Is Global, edited by Robin Morgan. It includes profiles of different countries--with basic stats and also personal essays. It needs to be updated, but should be allright for your project with maybe the exception of South Africa and Zaire, but it will at least have starters for these.

Good luck and let me know if you have trouble locating it. I can xerox it and send, but it should be in any library or progressive bookstore.
