I am of Croatian and Serbian
descent. Hearing of the
atrocities occurring in the
former Yugoslavia breaks my
heart. What can I do as a young
mother in the United States
to help? I feel a sense of
hopelessness and would really
appreciate some guidance.

an organization working closely
with women eastern Europe (and
elsewhere). They will likely
have lots of suggestions for
you — and
I'm sure they can utilize your
interest in helping.
