I'm doing some research on how people in the US affect women's rights in other countries.

Do you have any information about this topic or any ideas where I can get some information about this?

Thanks,

June

Dear June --

I think that as much as US women influence women around the world, women around the world influence them. I wouldn't say that it happens in one direction more often than in the other. In general, I think that women influence women by strategies -- for instance, in the US women have really pushed for legal change and have also used the media to influence the populace. That's one way or two ways.

I think the creation of so many NGOs that are not dependent on the government has hugely influenced women in other countries.

I hope that's a start.
