Feminism

My name is Rebekah. A group of students and I are currently working on a project; a compilation of accounts from the 1960s, much in the format of Terkel's The Good War. As a supporter of feminism, I felt that I could not let such an opportunity pass without including an account from an advocate of women's rights who fought for equality during the 1960s. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your note to FEMINIST.COM. Unfortunately, all of us at FEMINIST.COM are too young to have been active in the 1960s. However, there is an organization: Veterans of Feminist Wars which is a loose network of feminists active mostly in the 1960s up until today. You should contact Jacqui Ceballos who can put you in touch with these women--(318) 984-3599. There are also some great books out there that cover personal stories from this time period--most notably Margot Adlers' most recent book.
