Feminism

Hello,

Why do you believe that the words feminism and feminist have become associated with such negativity?

In general, I think that people fear feminism for two reasons -- one, it means that they will have to take more responsibility over their lives, for instance, not letting racist jokes slip by, and two, that they like life the way it is and feminism is certainly about disrupting that.

I also think that main reason for fearing feminism is that people wrongly think that getting women more power means taking it from men, but it actually is about equalizing it for all.

Hope that helps,

-- Amy
