Feminism

Hi,

I'm studying Sociology at College, and I need to find out information on the feminists perspectives on the redistribution of wealth.

Please could you help me and send me some information on this or anything relating to this topic. Thank you very much for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Sincerly,

Krystle

Dear Krystle,

Part of feminism's struggle for equality is certainly the redistribution of wealth -- creating a greater balance and there are many feminists of wealth who have used themselves as an example by taking over family foundations and using their own wealth.

There are a couple of places where you can learn more:

1.) Women In Philanthropy -- based in Washington, DC

2.) The Women's Funding Network.

3.) The Chronicle on Philanthropy has done several articles on this.

4.) Gloria Steinem's book Moving Beyond Words contains an essay called "The Masculinization of Wealth" -- which examines this.

5.) The Third Wave Foundation hosts an annual Making Money Make Change Conference.
